In conjunction with the Timaru Festival Of Roses and with the support of our local Harcourts team, Hospice are once Jellicoeagain proud to bring you our Home and Garden Spectacular.

Spring is the perfect time to get out and enjoy a garden tour. With the regions fabulous gardens coming out on show combined with some of our more interesting homes this is a self drive tour that is guaranteed to cause admiration and inspiration for all who join us.

A selection of 9 different properties will showcase some of the region’s finest. There will be something for everyone to see. Tickets will be $30 for all properties over both days or $10 per individual property, purchased at the gate.

The properties on display are:


76 Scarborough Road - Alec and Shelley Gould

Come down the long driveway and view this lovely home with its rambling gardens and gorgeous views.  Just minutes from town but with a feeling of seclusion and quiet.  With a brand new kitchen this home has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Discover a  large deck and outdoor bath nestled into the garden you won’t want to leave.


23 Bidwill Street - David Carr and Rachel Garden

David and Rachel have created something very special with their beautiful character home.  Featuring two gorgeous Christmas trees and a brand new kitchen adding to what was already a very special property.  Meticulous manicured gardens surround the home with gorgeous roses and peonies.

A timeless home,  highlighting an amazing outlook from every window and a peaceful ambience.  View the kitchen, living, dining and lounge, wander the garden and take in the pool area.  You would have admired this home from the street, now you get to have a look at what is around the front.

The tour is over two days Friday the 29th 2pm to 7pm and Saturday the 30th 11am to 4pm, we have a lovely lunch available, Plants for Sale, Art and and plenty to make your tour a great one.

The Caroline Bay Rock and Hop

The South Islands largest festival of its kind.

The Caroline Bay Rock and Hop is a Nostalgia festival with a 50's,60's theme. Featuring 1000 cars, caravans and motorbikes from all eras on show and cruising the South Canterbury region over the three days.

The event kicks off with a cruise to Riverstone Castle on the Thursday.  Then on the Friday vehicles will meet  at Caroline Bay to cruise together to the picturesque town of Geraldine where there is entertainment galore. They then return for the Main Streets cruise which takes the vehicles past the thousands of spectators through the main streets of Timaru, Pleasant Point then finishing with a street party in Temuka. Those that wish to continue can then join us back at Caroline Bay in the hall for a night of Rock and Roll. We have the amazing SBS Bank Surfing USA Party,  Rock to band Shalow featuring Doug Blakie until late.

The Saturday is the big Gala Day Show and Shine where all the vehicles are parked up for display and judging on the spectacular Caroline Bay. We have bands, The Groove and The Drama Queens will be rocking, a Best Dressed Competition, 100’s of Stalls, plenty of dancers, along with many other forms of entertainment. We finish the day off with the prize giving winners parade. The town then Rocks for the night with many Rock and Roll Parties including the famous "Rock Your Socks Off" party held in the bay hall, this year we have3 CHe Orton and Four on the Floor. Tickets sell quickly so get in early or party at another great event around town.

Everyone can meet up again down at the Bay Hall in the morning for Breakfast before heading off on the final cruise which this year is going to Ashburton.

This is a Hospice South Canterbury Fundraiser, all money raised goes straight back to helping provide care for those in our region.

Vehicle entry to all cruises and the Show and Shine competition costs $40 for a car or caravan and $35 for a motorcycle.

Party tickets are for sale for different prices and only the parties arranged by Hospice are for sale on our website, however we can certainly help you get tickets to other venues.

Public Entry to the Gala Day Show and Shine is a donation to our Hospice, please be generous as its all going to a great cause.

We would love you to dress up in your best 50' 60's gear and join in the atmosphere, come along and celebrate with us.
