Hospice Awareness Week

Website Headder

As part of this special week your Hospice South Canterbury would like to invite you to these free events

"Living with Grief"
Tuesday 18th May 10-11:am or 5:15-6:15pm @ The Hospice Community Cottage, 70 Orbell St, Timaru.

When someone we love has died we all cope in different ways. At times life can be particularly difficult - especially around anniversaries and significant days. Come join us for a cuppa and explore ways to help yourself and/or those you love around anniversaries and special occasions.

Burning of the cards from the Farmers Tree of Remembrance Campaign.
Tuesday 18th May 11:30-12:00 @ The Hospice Community Cottage, 70 Orbell St, Timaru.

This reflective event seeks to honour those who have died and were particularly missed at Christmas. Together we burn the cards from the Farmers Tree of Remembrance campaign where people wrote messages to loved ones.

"What Hospice can offer you"
Wednesday 19th May 10-11:am or 5:15-6:15pm @ The Hospice Community Cottage, 70 Orbell St, Timaru.

Hospice South Canterbury has been an integral part of the community for almost 30 years. While many may know of the wonderful services provided with end-of-life care, there are many other aspects of support offered by the Hospice. Join us for a cuppa and a chat to find out what Hospice offers when you or a loved one has a life limiting/palliative condition.

Advance Care Planning - Your life your health
Thursday 20th May 10-11am or 5:15-6:15pm @ The Hospice Community Cottage, 70 Orbell St, Timaru.

We plan for everything else in life except the end of it. Join us as we discuss various aspects of advanced care planning with Diane Wilson (Hospice EN). All questions welcomed.

You are welcome to join in a guided tour through the Hospice after any of these events.
