For the cost of just one cup of coffee a week you and like-minded club members will make a world of difference to the work of Hospice South Canterbury.
If you would like to come along you can meet up with other members at six monthly get-togethers and hear how your contribution is making a difference.
Volunteers are invaluable to Hospice, we need volunteers to help us with everything from meals to our shop, gardening and helping with events. We have a wonderful community of volunteers who have alot of fun working with each other helping Hospice. If you would like to become a hospice volunteer or would just like to know more you can find more details by clicking the link below or you could call us on 03 687 7670.
Donating some of your time can be a fun way to help raise money for hospice. You may have a great idea for an event that you would like to organise for us or you may like to help with one of our many events. Either way we’d love to hear from you.

After receiving a small amount of funding from our district health board Hospice South Canterbury still needs to raise over $1,000,000 to continue providing our amazing service. Donations of any amount are always welcomed. You can make an online donation, by clicking Here, This is a secure payment service. Alternatively donations can be sent to PO Box 4007, Timaru. If you would like to bank directly into our account then please contact our Funding Manager on 03 687 7673.
We have two quite different Hospice Shops, both situated in Timaru. One is our 68 Orbell Street Shop, this specialises in Bric a Brac, Ladies Clothing, Shoes, Jackets etc. The other is our 54 Church Street shop which specialises in furniture, electrical, mens wear and houshold items. We greatly appreciate donations of items of quality that can still be enjoyed again by someone else, we have a pick up service if your item is too large or you can not get into our shops, just call Noeleen on 03 688 3965, otherwise you can drop your treasures off to either of our shops. The funding raised provides a valuable source of income for direct patient care and comfort.
Another way to help is to purchase goods from our shop, we also have gift vouchers available for our Orbell Street shop, this is a great way of giving twice, once to the recipient and also to Hospice when you purchase it.
Donations in lieu of flowers are gratefully received at funerals from appreciative families. Funeral Directors have full details and can assist families with any wishes in this respect.
A bequest can clearly record your wishes to help provide for others who live in your community and who require hospice services. Bequests help us plan and fund our operation with confidence and continuity.
To bequest to the Community Trust Hospice Foundation please consult your solicitor, trust company or other legal adviser to ensure your wishes are acurately and legally stated.
All information we receive is strictly confidential.
